pull the blankets over your head
forget about the day I left
those angry words that pierce me still
never did I achieve my thrill

not so popular in this part of town
it was worthless when I said

I’m opening all of these closed doors
that have somehow turned into thick brick walls
I’m fessing up to every empty word
and every single lie that I’ve ever told
I’m selling off all of my old ideas
in hopes new ones will form to replace
the feeling that I’ve been truly understated
by the sad eyes that gaze from your sad face

but I’m looking up from here
I’ve got a new idea
of what this has become
and if it was ever fun
well that’s a choice you make
for the shit you take
in from day to day

I’m leaving all of my history
in a town I never felt welcome in
I’ll forget about it with time
in hopes of never coming back again
